Location sound recording & live sound · LondonAudio Production

Clean, confident sound captured at the source: on location, on stage and in the booth. Great post-production starts with a great recording.

Overview

Great sound starts at the source

Audio production is everything that happens when sound is first captured: on a film set, at a shoot for an advert, in a voice-over booth or in a conference hall. A clean recording keeps performances that can’t be repeated, and it saves hours later in the edit and the mix.

The Richmond Studios records production sound for film, television, branded content, advertising and live events in London and across the UK. The same team handles post-production, so we record with the final mix in mind and every file arrives in the edit labelled, synced and ready to use.

How we work

From brief to delivery

  1. Brief & recce

We talk through the shoot: locations, number of speakers, movement, and what the edit and final mix will need.

  2. Plan & kit

We choose microphones, wireless channels and recorders, and set up timecode and backup recording to suit the job.

  3. On the day

We monitor every take, flag noise problems before they’re baked in, and record room tone and wild lines.

  4. Hand-over

You receive labelled, metadata-rich files and sound reports, ready for the editor and for post-production.
